Labour hypocrisy over crumbling school

Labour hypocrisy over crumbing school
-
Council inactivity must be highlighted

I was pleased to see that Nick Gibbs Secretary of State for Schools is coming to examine Richard Lee Primary School (‘Shocking School to get ministerial visit’ Times 17/11/2011)  but I do hope he puts the local Labour MP and local councillors in their rightful place; ‘In the corner with their hypocrite hats on’.  This school has been ignored for years, not just since the last General Election.  The local MP did nothing about it and yet now wants to pretend he has real concerns for the children and staff at the school.  Likewise I’m led to believe the Labour Council had a £5 million under spend last year and yet I don’t hear these councillors saying it should be spent on this school.  No, they would rather put this money aside to pay for the redundancies that are going to take place with council workers.  So yes I do hope Mr Gibbs listens to the parent’s children and staff at the school and does something about the conditions the children are having to be taught in, but I also hopes he asks those that were in a position to do something about the school why they ignored it for so long.

Thanks
